Page 2: An illustrated introduction welcomes readers to Ari and Rose’s London adventure. The two friends stand beside the Thames, with the London Eye in the background. The title introduces The Fastest Friends and the story of how it all started: a boy, a dog and an amazing adventure.

Page 3: At home, Ari excitedly prepares for a trip to the London Science Fair. Rose is ready to come too. Ari imagines robots and incredible inventions, while Rose hopes for snacks. The friends gather their things and set off together. Ari’s enthusiasm and Rose’s playful curiosity make an ordinary morning feel like the beginning of an adventure.

Booklet page 4: Story 2 — The London Express

Page 4: Ari and Rose ride a red London bus on the way to the Science Fair. They watch the city and the River Thames go by. Rose is especially interested in a picnic beside the river, but Ari keeps their attention on the fair. They arrive at the entrance, where exciting exhibits and inventions await.

Booklet page 5: Story 3 — The London Science Fair

Page 5: The Science Fair is full of noisy, colourful inventions. Ari and Rose explore a talking robot and a popcorn demonstration that produces a comical mess. Among the exhibits, Ari spots a machine associated with special serums and scientific experiments. Their curiosity draws them towards a restricted research area.

Page 6: Ari and Rose enter a research area filled with glowing equipment. Warning signs tell visitors not to touch. Rose’s nose investigates and Ari reaches towards the controls. The machine activates, surrounding them with bright blue and pink energy. When the commotion settles, the two friends are startled and something about them has changed.

Page 7: Outside the research area, Ari feels unusually energetic. He runs so fast that he leaves a blue streak behind him, then discovers that stopping can be difficult. Rose also finds a surprising new ability: her tongue stretches much further than before. The pair begin to realise that the experiment has given them extraordinary powers.

Booklet page 8: Story 6 — The world’s weirdest superpowers

Page 8: Ari and Rose experiment with their new abilities at the fair. Ari tries running at super-speed, while Rose tests her long, stretchy tongue. Their experiments cause comic surprises, especially when snacks are involved. A nearby scientific explanation connects their unusual powers to speed and stretching. They begin to imagine what they might do with these gifts.

Booklet page 9: Story 7 — Faster isn’t always better

Page 9: Ari discovers that speed alone does not solve every problem. Rushing leads to mistakes and confusion, while Rose’s attention and stretchy tongue prove useful in unexpected ways. Their different abilities complement one another. The friends begin to learn that being a hero means noticing what is happening, thinking and working together.

Booklet page 10: Story 8 — The costume department

Page 10: A costume stall at the fair gives Ari and Rose the chance to look like superheroes. Ari wears a blue mask, cape and outfit with a yellow lightning bolt. Rose wears a red mask and cape with a yellow paw emblem. Their first heroic looks are accompanied by playful confusion and a very enthusiastic lick. Their superhero identities begin to take shape.

Booklet page 11: Story 9 — Our first heroic mission

Page 11: In their new costumes, Ari and Rose tackle a small mishap near a hot-dog stall. Ari rushes in, while Rose’s attention and tongue help bring the situation under control. The incident earns them a little recognition. As they look for another opportunity to help, the fair’s rocket demonstration draws their attention.

Booklet page 12: Story 10 — The rocket show

Page 12: A crowd gathers around a large display rocket at the Science Fair. The demonstration begins, with a motor turning and the rocket held above the ground. Rose senses that something is wrong. A suspension cable suddenly snaps, leaving the rocket dangerously unstable above the crowded area. Ari warns everyone to move back.

Booklet page 13: Story 11 — Heroes coming through

Page 13: Ari responds to the rocket emergency by racing through the crowd at super-speed. He moves children away from danger and helps clear the area. Rose stays alert beside the unstable rocket. Ari’s speed is useful for getting people to safety, but the damaged suspension still needs a solution.

Booklet page 14: Story 12 — A very rash plan

Page 14: Ari tries to solve the rocket problem with another burst of speed. He attempts to push the rocket, but the force makes it wobble more dangerously. Moving faster is not enough to stabilise it. Rose watches carefully and notices something important about the loose cable. The rescue needs a different plan.

Booklet page 15: Story 13 — Rose has an idea

Page 15: Rose studies the rocket and spots the loose suspension cable. She acts on her observation instead of simply rushing towards the rocket. Ari pauses and recognises that she has a plan. Their teamwork begins to replace his first hasty approach. Sometimes the smartest hero is the one who notices what others have missed.

Booklet page 16: Story 14 — The tongue-tastic rescue

Page 16: Rose stretches her super-long tongue towards the loose cable and catches it. She braces herself to hold the unstable rocket in place. Her stretchy, sticky tongue becomes an emergency anchor. With the immediate danger steadied, Ari has a chance to reach the controls and fix the mechanism. The two heroes now have different, equally important jobs.

Booklet page 17: Story 15 — Teamwork saves the day

Page 17: Ari reaches the jammed winch and works to free the mechanism while Rose keeps hold of the cable. Their coordinated efforts stop the rocket from falling. The crowd celebrates as the danger passes. Ari’s speed and Rose’s careful observation and stretchy tongue have succeeded together. London’s newest superhero team has completed its first big rescue.

Booklet page 18: Story 16 — The world’s weirdest interview

Page 18: After the rescue, a reporter interviews the new heroes. Ari tries to explain their remarkable teamwork, while Rose becomes interested in the microphone. An enthusiastic lick turns the interview into a funny scene. The crowd’s celebration and the friends’ playful reactions round off their eventful visit to the fair.

Booklet page 19: Story 17 — What makes a hero?

Page 19: As the day winds down, Ari and Rose sit on a bench beside the Thames. Ari reflects on the rescue and on how much Rose contributed. Being a hero is about more than superpowers: patience, noticing things and helping one another matter too. Rose responds with affection and another lick. The two friends enjoy a quiet moment together.

Booklet page 20: Story 18 — The Fastest Friends

Page 20: Against the colours of a London sunset, Ari and Rose reflect on their extraordinary day. Their different powers and their friendship have made them a team. They look out over the city from a rooftop, ready for whatever comes next. The story closes by introducing them together as Ari and Rose, The Fastest Friends.

Page 21: Ari’s official profile presents the seven-year-old hero in his everyday clothes and blue superhero costume. His power is super-speed. He is brave, curious, imaginative and sometimes impulsive. The profile celebrates his ability to race to a rescue and his partnership with Rose. The illustrations show his lightning-bolt emblem, expressive face and fast-moving action poses.

Page 22: Rose’s official profile introduces the two-year-old golden retriever as a hero in her own right. Her everyday look includes a red bandana, and her superhero outfit has a red mask and cape with a yellow paw emblem. Her power is a super-stretchy, sticky tongue. She is observant, loyal and playful, with a love of snacks. Her teamwork with Ari is central to their adventures.

Booklet page 23: Issue 2 teaser — The Runaway Stroller

Page 23: The supplied teaser announces the next issue, The Runaway Stroller. Ari and Rose face an unexpected chase through London involving a runaway stroller and a friend. The teaser promises another adventure and identifies it as Issue 2. It is part of Issue 1’s approved booklet; the second issue itself is not yet available to read.

Page 24: The back cover summarises the origin adventure: a visit to the London Science Fair brings Ari super-speed and gives Rose an extraordinarily stretchy tongue. A runaway rocket threatens the fair, and the friends learn that working together matters most. Ari and Rose sit together overlooking London at sunset. The closing message celebrates adventure, friendship and fun, and promises more stories to come.
